Q: What are your session times?
A: We offer childcare from 8am-6pm Monday to Friday. Our minimum sessions are from 9am-3pm.
Q: Do you provide snack and lunch?
A: At Highland Fling we offer morning and afternoon snack. Our snack menus are collated by our health and wellbeing specialist. Our nutritionally balanced menus change seasonally.
We ask parents to provide lunch which can be anything you wish. Hot lunches should be provided in a thermos.
Q: What should I send with my child?
A: As we are based outdoors for most of the day we ask that you provide a suitable waterproof jacket ( a warmer one for the winter), wellington boots, a change of clothes, hat and suncream. Please also provide nappies, Highland Fling supply wipes.
Q: What are the sleeping arrangements?
A: We have the facilities for your child to nap or have some quiet time during their day at Highland Fling. Your Key Worker will speak with you when settling in your child and you can let them know your child's sleeping pattern.
Q: Can I add extra days?
A: Your child's days of attendance will be confirmed when starting. Should you require additional days please request this with the office.
Q: What is the minimum session requirement per week?
A: To confirm a space at Highland Fling we ask that you confirm a minimum of 2 sessions per week.
Q: Can I change or swap days?
A: The attendance for your child is confirmed and will remain the same each week. Should you wish an additional session and we have availability this will be added to your attendance, we are unable to swap days.
Q: Do you accept childcare vouchers?
A: Yes, we accept all childcare vouchers at Highland Fling. Please contact the office when setting up for initial payments.
Q: Are you a partnership nursery?
A: Yes, we work in partnership with Edinburgh Council and offer funded places from 3 years old for up to 16 hours per week. The funding is received at the end of each term and paid directly to the parents.
